Buckmore Park is Medway Towns District Campsite. Buckmore Park is 142 acres of ancient woodland with cleared areas suitable for camping and other activities. Buckmore Park is classified as Ancient Woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with areas of special archaeological interest and as such has to be managed very carefully to ensure that scouting can continue without damaging the delicate balance of nature and history, so that it will be there for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their Leaders for generations to come.
Buckmore Park has been the centre point to scouting in the area for the last 60 years and continues to grow from strength to strength with the activities that we are able to offer. With over 1000 members of the scout association registered in the district we cater for all areas of scouting from beaver scouts right up to our senior scouters, M.A.S.T.
We are predominantly used by scout sections within the Medway Towns District; however we have links to scouting groups all over the UK. As well as scouting and guiding use, the site is also ideal for Duke of Edinburgh award training, schools to enhance areas of their curriculum for G.C.S.E and Forest School and other youth organisations by adding to young peopleís experiences and developing outdoor skills that are often not available in Town Centre locations.
We pride ourselves as being one of the finest back to basics sites in the UK. With our range of easily accessible campsites and some other more challenging locations we really do have something for all.
Our list of activities continues to grow and we are now able to offer air rifle shooting, archery, geocaching, orienteering and our superb caving network. With soon to be added activities like mountain bike trail, assault course and Beaver zone with mini assault course and other activities for the younger scouts among you we are listening to what you want from your park.
